It's a question meme! Ask me things about Shin-Ah/Abi and Velvet/Silk and I will ask you stuff in return. Though stuff for Velvet will be mostly first impressions probably.
Abi just likes Phoenix so much. He is definitely someone Abi just likes being around because he has a nice energy and says nice things and he doesn’t seem to mind when Abi is quiet or awkward. But Abi also doesn’t find it too difficult to talk to Phoenix when he has to because he is generally comfortable around him. Also Phoenix gives top tier cuddles. Abi really appreciates physical contact even if he is not always sure how to initiate it, so Phoenix’s willingness to pet him and cuddle him is nice. And like I’ve said he has a bit of a crush, so Phoenix letting him flop on him and stuff is extra nice.
Phoenix kissing him during the betrayal game gave the crush a bit of a level up in that now he knows kissing is a thing and it’s nice and would probably kiss Phoenix again, but also it’s a little awkward because that game was fucked up and maybe the kissing was just because of the ghost. So, like, he’s hesitant to bring it up. It’s easier to just focus on cuddling.
Speaking of cuddling Abi would be 100% down with sparring and tusslecuddles with Phoenix. Tho he doesn’t really remember tusslecuddles yet, but maybe that will be his next memory.
AS FOR SILK her impression of Phoenix is pretty positive. He seems like an ok guy. She thinks he’s under some stress and maybe pushes himself too hard, but she doesn’t know the details, so she just kind of feels like “well, ok, just don’t push yourself until you fall on your face or something.” Also his memory proved he can be hilarious, so she will have fun teasing him.
Sanguine made a pretty positive first impression on Silk actually. It could have gone wrong when he told her he she was hot, but the timing was just so hilariously out of nowhere from her perspective and he wasn’t like weird or gross about it it was just like he was being...honest...which she can respect. So. She feels like he’s sort of earnest and sweet. Though possibly also easy to bully and tease. He’s one of the teammates she feels most comfortable with at the moment, though, so she’s likely to seek him out to hang out or do lives with and such.
(Bonus first impression: Abi is sorry about the murder)
I HOPE YOU KNOW I AM STEALING ALL YOUR CUTE ICONS OF HAK AND SHIN-AH
Anyway. A lot of what I said in your meme from awhile back still stands. He likes Raijuu and respects him and he likes that Raijuu sees him as someone who he's willing to work with to help Hiryuu. Since the betrayal game though, he does feel real bad because he feels like he let Raijuu down some. But like, logically he understands that everyone was fucked up by that game (including Raijuu). And he's glad Raijuu doesn't seem mad at him, but he's still inclined to be a bit hard on himself about it, especially after his most recent memories. He just feels!! Like he should do better!! So Raijuu will keep trusting him. okok
BUT ALSO, since the post-betrayal game cuddle pile he might be more inclined to flop on Raijuu sometimes. Since Raijuu seems ok with floppings when things are stressful. Dragons like flopping on each other.
AS FOR SILK AND BOSS. She is...not sure about him yet. He's probably the member of the unit she is least sure of. She read his attitude at her arrival as being kind of indifferent as well as possibly vaguely inconvenienced. Which, given the betrayal game and everything he was probably just fuckin' tired, but she doesn't know much about that. It doesn't really bother her if he is indifferent to her or straight up doesn't like her, though. So she's just kind of /SHRUG about it. But anyway given his attitude and his name she just kind of sees him as a punk kid who thinks he's really cool but she's not really convinced that he's cool.
They should probably thread again so she can get more accustomed to him and such. She is prickly and has a lot of deeply rooted anger and trust issues so it's easy for her to just put up a wall of short-tempered sass to keep people at arm's length, which is sort of what she's inclined to do with Boss at this point. But she has a squishy center once she warms up to people.
ALSO BONUS FIRST IMPRESSION: Abi is sorry about the murder. Tho. Maybe not as sorry as he could be given that Boss killed Hiryuu. But still. Pretty sorry. The whole situation was bad.
UPDATE Silk has warmed up to him now some. But may still be inclined to be hissy sometimes. Because she can be a little like a prickly cactus I guess. But she’s willing to feed him, so.
Silk likes Maki so far! She seems level headed and easy to talk to. And Silk appreciates that she agreed to help her with her hair, because she felt kind of dumb about it but also like, amnesia is a pain in the ass and she has no idea what she did with it before. She doesn't have a super strong impression so far outside of "nice girl, seems smart and not annoying" which is pretty positive, so.
Anyway I'm gonna have her pop by Taisho maybe in the new mingle. I dropped the ball on starting any new threads last night, so it's probably easier to have her stop by morning of the 28th now.
Seriously even without the memory of her taking him away from his village and giving him a name she is still just such a positive force in his life. For a bit he felt like she might worry about him more than necessary. Because like, it's ok Hiryuu he's strong he can do things!! But then he felt like he fucked up a lot in the betrayal game and then also with his childhood memory it's like. Ok maybe I do need help I seem to fuck up a lot, so ok.
That being said, his protectiveness of her has definitely leveled up after watching her die two times in the murder house. HE DOESN'T LIKE THAT. PLZ NEVER AGAIN. Chances of him trying to throw himself in front of a bullet for her somehow (metaphorically or not) have like tripled, probably.
But in the immediate aftermath of all the trauma mostly he's just glad to cuddle her and be petted and stuff. He's pretty worried about her in general and if staying close and cuddling makes her feel better he will escort her many places and give her many cuddles. Cuddles also make him feel better. So that's a win-win.
Silk and Hiryuu are hard to predict. The fact that she has exactly zero memories right now means she's not quite as ragey about things as she was in afd, for example. She's still kind of short tempered but she's a little bit softer than she will be when she starts to remember all her trauma. (Or I guess I should say it's easier to find her softness than it will be after she remembers stuff) But ANYWAY, what that means is she won't necessarily have her issues with pure hearted people at the forefront of her mind so she might not have the same kind of knee jerk reaction she had to like, Hiyori. She might not know what to make of her at first, though, because she's like. So pure. Lmao.
Long run, though, I think it could be interesting just because the betrayal thing...of having someone you love and trust like totally fuck you over...is something Velvet can relate to so much. They react to their trauma in totally different ways, but it's still...a thing they have in common. Hiryuu might, ultimately, end up reminding her a bit of Eleanor, who was the only pure hearted adult member of her party in canon. Who, also had red hair, actually.
Hiryuu love Abi, duh? She has no idea he has arrangements with Raijuu for her safety and would be very miffed if she knew but ultimately she does understand it's just because they care.
She's not... trying to baby him... but she can't help but want to baby him, especially after that recent memory. SHE DOESN'T WANT ANYONE TO HURT HER GOOD SOFT BABY (older?) BROTHER. She keeps meaning to like. Teach him to read and write and I've been really bad on finding time to do that but I want to; basically she wants to help make him... feel more confident in himself in the world even though her dying accidentally did the opposite of that--which... she feels bad about; he shouldn't have to feel like her death or not dying was his fault. Frankly--she probably wasn't making it out of that room alive, whether or not Lucifel / Abi had started shit, not if Dantalion or Santa had any intentions of collecting on her promises.
As for Velvet--I think they have a greater potential for being able to have positive CR than Hiyori. Yes, she is very pure hearted, but unlike Hiyori, Yona is... a survivor, someone who knows what it's like to be in kill-or-be-killed situations, someone who has had to dirty her hands to get ugly but important work done. Unlike Hiyori, she's willing to kill someone to make sure her loved ones make it, and while she still doesn't walk a road of vengeance, she also makes it clear that she also can't overlook or forgive Soo-Won's crimes against herself/her father. I'm hoping that they'll be able to make friends, or at least have positive CR in some form, since it's unlikely I'll be able to pick up a second any time soon and I do think Velvet could be a good kickass influence/older sister figure for her to look up to, but!! You can't force things so we'll see.
To be fair, the arrangement with Raijuu is as much about one or the other of them staying safe as it is about keeping Hiryuu safe. Since it really boils down to "One or the other of us needs to be ok so we can support her." Though now that they know Shuten is from home, maybe they should include him in the deal.
And I guess Abi did offer to try to take damage for her instead, but. He'd probably be tempted to do that either way.
Umm. Abi likes AlcheME a lot because AlcheME and HSS are close, but besides that I don't think he really thinks in terms of favorites. He has individual people he likes a lot but like...he's not great at getting to know entire units because talking is hard. Though he is growing more fond of SensitIV in spite of the basement standoff in the murder house.
He loves all his unitmates, honestly. I think he feels closest to Hiryuu, Hurricane and Cable, but he thinks they're all great. Both Mori and Spidey seem really smart and he respects that and he likes to be around them. He's glad they didn't seem to have too bad a time in the betrayal game.
I don't have any concrete plans for Silk. I know that, unlike in AFD, I'm gonna ease her into her trauma some to help her bond with her unit and engage with the setting. So a lot of her early memories are gonna be neutral/positive and party oriented, and then I'll have her start to remember the bad stuff. When exactly I do it might depend some on like...what kind of games and such happen in the next few weeks, though.
Especially after his memory, but honestly even before that, he thought Nathan was pretty cool and admirable and a good dad. Even if he was grumpy and intense sometimes. He seemed nice? And like he cared. Which is important. Also he feels really bad about what happened in the house, still, but it meant a lot that Nathan was willing to protect him. Even tho he was like kinda crazy at the time.
But after the memory he will be even more comfortable around him because he's so much like Ao, except like quieter and better socialized. And more mature, actually, because Ao was probably only his 20's when he died. Dragons don't live long. But he thinks Nathan's way of being parental is pretty legit. And it's also nice that he seems to understand about what it's like to have people be afraid and having to live with that. Like he was worried about the team rejecting him after that memory, so hearing Nathan basically say that "Humans get scared of things they don't understand, but you're still ok" was really reassuring.
So going forward he'll probably be more attached to him because he reminds him of someone important to him. And he'll be extra appreciative of any approval Nathan gives him because it's really nice to know someone you respect thinks you did good. He'll try to be extra helpful and good, okok.
