This is a big memory and there's a lot to unpack, so here we go.
Summary - The memory starts with some kids playing with a spinny top that bumps into baby Abi's foot. Abi picks it up and starts to ask if he can try it, but the kids all scream and run away in terror
- Someone angry calls for Seiyruu and comes to retrieve him. He's dragged away by a big man who looks a lot like him while all the villagers cling to their children in fear.
- This man is called Ao. And he starts yelling at him for going out. "I told you not to go out very often! Why won't you listen?"
- Abi apologizes but he wants friends.
- Ao snaps at him, grabs him and shakes him and tells him it's impossible for him to have friends he has to stay in the house. He also tells him he causes nothing but trouble.
- Abi asks Ao why people are so afraid, and if his power is cursed.
- Ao tells him the villagers spread a lot of stupid rumors but the power of Seiryuu's eyes can paralyze people, and even stop their hearts.
- Abi starts to cry but Ao yells at him and tells him not to, because it's depressing.
- Abi expresses distress over being cursed and Ao yells "That's right! You're cursed! The Seiryuu is a monster!" Which leads Abi to make the most hilarious face of distress, and Ao curses because he probably didn't mean to be that much of a jerk.
- Ao then explains he doesn't understand the origins of the power, but that it clings to their village and even if one dies another is born.
- Abi ends up cutting him off because he notices that bad people are headed to the village. Because his eyes are like. Really fucking good. He can see for literal miles.
- Ao gets ready to leave but falls down in the process, because while Abi's eyes are good, apparently Ao is going blind. Abi is worried, but Ao tells him not to be.
- Ao goes out wearing a mask and a sword to meet the bandits who are coming for the village, and he brings Abi with him, because obviously this is a good place for a 4 year old.
- Ao defeats the bandits, and asks Abi if he got a good look at his sword moves. Abi says he did. This is how he learned to use a sword. Just by watching.
- He asks Ao why he needs to use a sword, shouldn't he just use his eyes on bad guys? But Ao yells at him that his eyes are cursed, and the power will reflect back on him if he uses it. It's a double edged sword and no matter what they do people will always fear and hate them for it.
- Abi agrees not to use his eyes like that, but then asks if he uses sticks to using a sword, will he be able to make friends. Ao says no, probably not and walks off.
- Abi tries to chase after Ao, but trips and falls. He's distressed, and doesn't want to be left behind. Ao offers him a hand and Abi runs to catch up. He's just so glad to be able to hold a hand.
- The memory jumps to another fight against bandits, but it doesn't go as smoothly. Tiny 4 year old Abi has to save Ao from some of the bandits and they get away.
- Abi is worried about Ao and runs to check on him. But Ao laughs hysterically and yells joyfully that he can't see and his body is numb. His power is gone. He's finally human.
- Abi picks up some bells that the bandits dropped and ties them to his mask. Ao expresses appreciation because now he can hear Abi even if he can't see him.
- Abi is thrilled to be praised, but then Ao starts to cry and apologizes because he's going to leave Abi all alone. Abi doesn't like talking about that and wants to change the subject but doesn't know how.
- There's another time jump and now Abi is all alone in the house he shared with Ao, but Ao is gone. Abi is left to grieve and no one comes to help him or guide him. All the villagers do is express relief that Ao is dead.
- Abi keeps ringing his bells so Ao can hear him, even tho Ao is dead. Abi is just that alone.
- There's another small time jump and Abi sees a big army coming towards his village.
- Abi doesn't know what to do. He's not strong enough with a sword to defeat that many people. But he's scared because the village's secret could be discovered and it will be obvious it's him due to the mask he wears.
- Since there's no one to tell him not to, he runs out on his own to meet the army. And, against all Ao's advice and training, uses his eyes.
- He destroys an entire army when he's just four years. Literally just by looking at them.
- Once it's done and they're all dead, Abi falls flat on his face, unable to move. He understands now why Ao said his eyes are cursed and resolves never to use them again.
- He is called Seiryuu, but it's not a name, it's just what he is. The Blue Dragon.
- As in his first memory he is wearing a mask, and Ao also wears a mask. Apparently this is just something Seiryuus do.
- Ao is literally the only person willing to associate with him and Abi loves him. Even if he's yelly and angry.
- Ao looks like him in that they have the same coloring and eyes and such, but they are not actually related.
- His existence is the reason Ao is dying
- Abi wants so badly to make friends but just can't.
- Abi is terrified of being alone. When Ao seems to walk off without him he kind of freaks out, which is why he's so relieved and delighted when Ao offers to hold his hand.
- All of this is why he's so quiet and awkward and doesn't really have a basic education.
- His eyes can hurt people, but they're also powerful in other ways. He can track movements and see for long distances.
- Something we don't see in the memory, but that will be evident to people who see the broadcast is that the power to paralyze people comes from his eyes creating illusions of the people he's looking at getting eaten alive by a dragon. But he has no control over it. Like at all.
- Once it's all over he is scared of himself and his power
- This is going to boost his guilt and uncertainty about himself a lot, especially after the betrayal game. Maybe it wasn't just the ghost? Maybe he's cursed and bad and this is just his life? He loses his shit when he gets sad and kills people. Lots of people.
- Might start wearing a mask more often. Thank goodness HSS's uniforms come with one. Now no one has to look at him ever.
- Will probably feel more attached to Cable now, too. Grumpy intense dads are good dads.
- He'll probably be even more quiet and weird for awhile, uh.
- He's gonna be more scared of being alone and abandoned. He'll probably want reassurance but will be unsure how to ask for it.
